We have all been through the episode like a chapter in a book where we promise ourselves that not a single sugary temptation will pass by our lips today. Snacking is not even an option today. Our minds are made up and we are full of will power to resist even the tastiest of temptations.
You are at work, busy like crazy, and you have hardly had time for a single stray thought. You think oh well, all is going well today – no hunger. No sooner do you think that and you start to feel a familiar rumble in your stomach. You have been extremely busy and have not even looked at your watch yet, so automatically you think that it must be close to lunch time. You eagerly look at the time – and it is only 10:30 am! The mid morning hunger pains are here.
You attempt to ignore the hunger and try to get caught up in your work again, trying to concentrate, but alas, your hunger is consuming you and you can no longer concentrate on anything except satisfying your hunger. You rush out to the vending machine with the thought of getting something small and healthy to satisfy your stomach, but no luck, there is nothing small and healthy left so you give in to temptation, telling yourself that you will try again tomorrow, and tomorrow you will be able to go without snacking.
We have all been in the same situation as above. For some it is the vending machine, for others the local supermarket, Mc Donalds, the office canteen etc. The problem is that it is almost impossible not to give in to temptation when you are a little hungry. After all, the hunger pains are a sign to us that our stomachs need food. The average working person spends a huge amount of money each month on pure snacking, which also becomes one of the major contributors to weight gain.
There are ways you can stop snacking at work. Your place of work need not be a place to lose all will power and to succumb to temptations. Here is a list of my personal top 5 tips that will help you to stop snacking at work:-
1. Remain Calm
Traditionally stress is soothed by sweet items, and when you enter into a stressful state, the body naturally starts to crave some sweet items to calm it down and to help cope with the stress – so don’t stress.
2. Stock up on Fruit
Fruit is very healthy for your digestive system, contains sufficient natural sugars to help deal with stress, and will help you to lose weight naturally. Have a handy supply of fresh fruit at your desk and instead of rushing off for some snacks, rather bite into some nice fruit. This also prevents you from having to walk past all those other nice treats that may be available where you normally buy your snack.
3. Avoid Carrying Loose Change or extra Money.
If you do not have any loose change or extra money with you, then you know that you can not go to the vending machine and grab that little snack that you are looking forward to. Just the fact of knowing that you are unable to helps to remove the cravings.
4. Try To Keep Yourself Busy
Snacking is often a result of boredom. When you are bored or not busy, your mind starts to wonder and of course, the first place it generally wanders to is tempting food.
5. Use a good Appetite Suppressant
This is one of the top tricks that I swear by. Appetite suppressants are pills that trick your mind into thinking that it is not hungry when it is indeed. The appetitie suppressant will increase your willpower and you will be easily able to pass by even the most tempting of snacks, thereby increasing your chances of being successful at your weight loss efforts.
By far the best appetite suppressant I have used is a product called UniqueHoodia. They use only the purest Hoodia Gordonii from South Africa which has been clinically proven to suppress your appetite.
Results have also shown that UniqueHoodia can help cut your calorie intake by as much as 2,000 calories a day meaning weight loss is much faster and easier than by dieting alone.
If you want to cut out snacking at work then look no further – UniqueHoodia is your key to controlling those cravings.
